If you need a reason! Great Monthly promotional ideas for March

If you need a reasonIf You Need a Reason!

March 2013, is fast approaching and sticking to our formula of posting promotional ideas a couple of month in advance to give you time to prepare and promote, it’s time to think about our promotion for March.

Naturally, we can all get up in green and do a huge promotion for St Patrick’s day but unless you are actually Irish, that’s a bit tacky, wouldn’t you say?

I’m sorry, I just have this thing about St Patrick’s day; I’m English not Irish and furthermore it totally interferes with my birthday. When the Irish start dressing in red and stabbing dragons on St George’s day then perhaps I might get myself a shamrock, but until that pig is fully fueled and ready to taxi out to runway number never, I steer clear. According to the majority of my Irish friends (real Irish, like they actually live in Ireland), so should you!

Kath’s Pick

So I’m opting for something good and wholesome for my pick this month. March is officially National Craft Month and March 14th (a Thursday this year) is National Children’s Craft Day. Wow, this one is a gift from marketing heaven. Open up your center for a free craft day and enlist the help of some of your crafty tutors or crafty moms. You could do general craft or have a specific theme depending on the skills of your helpers, the world really is your oyster.

Invite your students and ask them to bring friends, all you are looking for is collecting names and contact details and giving out brochures and talking to as many moms as possible about the programs you offer that will benefit their children.

Talk to your local newspaper to see if they will run a story on your event. As always write yourself a press release and release it online together with taking brochures to the local schools and recreation centers to get the word out there. Don’t forget to check your insurance. Always, check and see if other organizations are marking the event in any way, perhaps you could go and talk at their event.

Last but not least give away some promotional items during your event. epromos does the cutest set of water color paints that can be branded with your company name as well as crayons, erasers and tell them The Tutor Report sent you. As always have fun!

If you don’t like the above idea see if you can create a promotional event from one of the following campaigns, holidays or events.

1. National Athletic Training Month.

2. American Red Cross Month.

3. National Nutrition Month.

4. St. Patrick’s Day – March 17th.

5. National Social Work Month.

6. Return the borrowed books week – 1st week in March.

7. Youth Violence Prevention Week – Last week in March.

8. International Women’s Day – March 8th.

9. World TB Day.

10. National Children’s Craft Day -March 14th.

If I’ve missed any important ones or you have additional ideas please post them in the comments section below!
