wymantopsquare logoAre you looking for a good Teen Outreach Program for your school or afterschool program that has proven evidence based outcomes?

Well I ran into a great one when I was at the Florida Afterschool Alliance Convention in Orlando last month; Wyman, a non profit, offers TOP the Wyman Teen Outreach Program to work directly with teens and/or for you to become a Replication Partner and train others to present the program in their facility.

The program has three essential goals: – Healthy Behaviors, Life Skills and Sense of Purpose and has been recognized by a host of national organizations including the National Dropout Prevention Center, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Adolescent Health and the Office of Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) to name a few.

Wyman’s TOP provides communities, organizations and schools with a tested framework for creating or enhancing local youth development efforts and is one of only a few programs proven effective in both increasing school success and preventing teen pregnancy.

The Wyman website is full of useful blog posts about how the program is being used around the country and features a Grant page that lists open grants that may be applied for to help fund the TOP program in your community.

Wyman is a nonprofit organization based in St. Louis, Missouri. With over 110 years of experience in youth development, Wyman knows what works in helping young people reach meaningful and positive outcomes. Their vision is to foster communities where every teen is supported and encouraged to thrive in life, work and learning.

Wyman’s National Network is a growing network of organizations and agencies across the country certified to replicate Wyman’s Teen Outreach Program with fidelity, to ensure positive outcomes for teens.

For more information check out the website or email Annie Gray, M.Ed., Director of Partnerships.
