You think your tutoring business has a rock-solid marketing strategy. You’ve defined your target market, your offerings match your market focus, you’ve developed a killer logo (and you’re using it on everything from signage to promotional products), and maybe you’ve even created a blog to establish your company as a thought leader.
But how do you know if your marketing is working? How can you be sure your investments are paying off?
Here are some ways to determine if you’re taking your company’s marketing in the right direction.
Your Unique Selling Proposition (USP) is crystal clear.
A USP – also called a value proposition – defines why your customers should choose your tutoring business over another. It shouldn’t be vague – it should leave no doubt in your audience’s mind as to why your business is the best choice. Make your USP a real differentiator – whether you want to compete on special offers, tutoring hours, package options, or any number of other points.
Your marketing solves real problems.
You want your marketing to address customers’ pain points. Don’t provide what you want to provide – give them what they really need. There are simple ways to pinpoint this: You can issue a survey to students or parents, track customer requests, and monitor what other tutoring companies are offering. Your marketing should show that you have your finger on the pulse of what your customers need most.
You provide tangible reminders of your business.

A main goal with any marketing strategy is to keep your business top-of-mind.
Promotional products achieve this.
Research shows that 88% of consumers can recall the advertiser from a promotional item received in the last 12 months.
Promotional products are items imprinted with your company logo, and they include anything from pens and mugs to hats and USB drives. There are promo items to fit any purpose and budget, and best of all: They work.
When you consider the effectiveness of your marketing, look at the analytics. Did your marketing help bring in more customers? Did it boost blog traffic? Website traffic?
By putting the three ideas above into play, you’ll have marketing that resonates with customers, fills their needs, and cements your company as a leader in the tutoring market.
